Have a laugh!

It's ok...you can laugh...this is my projects closet! And some aren't in the picture because they are on my projects table! It will look much more organized in a few days when I reorganize that closet!! I'll do that on my free time! ha!

Hopefully it will become a ballet bag!

Bag for Ballet

Why am I posting a picture of fabric? Because I want to remind myself to complete this project for my daughter. This hopefully will be a cute ballet bag. Purple gingham for the bag...that fun shiny pink fabric will be the ballet slippers that are appliqued on it...and the straps will be purple with white polka dot grosgrain ribbon! Come on Mimi...get it done!!

this little guy!!

A VERY DEAR friend requested I make one of these for her daughter...(but it will have a really cute ruffle at the bottom...and it will be in red gingham)...well, i couldn't find a pattern for exactly what I wanted so I created the pattern myself! Anyway, I am currently obsessed with criss- cross straps! I have made several bubbles for Hunt with these kind of straps. Anyway, how cute will this be in the winter with a turtle neck under it! I have two more in the making and plan on doing one for Maggie with ruffles, too! And I can really think of a thousand other things I would do to it...monogram, applique,etc...I will post more pictures of the other ones I make when they are completed!

The Button Down!

This is about the most detailed(well, at the top of the list) sewing project I have encountered! It goes right up there with smocking and constructing a bishop. This is a button down I am making for Tyner. It is this great looking brown and cream linen! As you can see I have quite a few more steps...like the other sleeve, cuffs, button, button holes and hem. It has been quite a task but I must say I am ready to tackle another one!

Paprika!!

I am such a sucker for ginghams! I love them in every color! But I have been eyeing this particular color for a very long time! Then I found this chiffon rose...which i am obsessed with right now-- i want them in every color...anyway, this gingham matched this rose so perfectly! Paprika! That's the color! I love things that have cross straps in the back! Maggie will wear it now like a sundress and then in the winter with a turtle neck and the cutest pair of ruffled leggings! I just got the pattern for the leggings and am SUPER excited! Well, what I also love is brother/sister stuff! And the sunsuit for hunt- no it isn't finished and it is mid august! ha!...anyway, i'll get to it- maybe tonight.

A New Journey

This dress sparked the idea!

There are several things I am passionate about... I love my Lord! My husband, children and family are my world! I LOVE teaching a child how to read and watching his eyes light up! I love learning! And I LOVE to sew!! Fabric, trim, patterns, etc...love it all! My wheels never stop spinning with ideas. My sketch book can attest to that. I get lost in thoughts of "that fabric would be so cute as a _______ or I can change up that pattern and do _______." During nap time my sewing room is turned upside down! And I love every minute of it. Maggie is quite used to saying "My mommy made it for me."

Mimi Pattison is an idea I have had in my head for a few years now. Now that my children are becoming a little more independent I have a TINY bit more free time... And the headbands...I am obsessed with fabric roses at the moment. Little girls want to look cute from head to toe don't they?! They like bows in their hair and bows on their toes! So, I have added headbands and bows to my obsessions!

This blog is just a fun way for me to keep up with all my ideas and for all of you that are as crazy about sewing, fabric,etc...as I am!
